Introduction
Hello! My name is Sakeenah (pronounced suh-key-nuh). I'm a 25 year old American who was born and raised in Oklahoma City. I moved to Los Angeles, CA in 2019 to attend college at Pepperdine University. I graduated in 2023 with a degree in Vocal Performance. I have worked with children on-and-off since then, whether it be through babysitting gigs, as an au pair in Austria, or most recently as a camp counselor. I have worked with toddler-aged children all the way up to teenagers. I enjoy working with children because they're always teaching me more about myself and shifting my perspective in unexpected ways. Right now, I'm looking for a job that allows me to serve others selflessly, as I've realized that so much of my early life was driven by egoic pursuits. I am deeply interested in mindfulness and Eastern spirituality. I practice yoga in my free time, and I love to lounge in the sun with a good book, as well as meditate. Singing is also a passion of mine. I am unsure what my permanent career will be, but right now, I feel called to work with kids.
