Hello!

My name is Debbie, I’m 24 years old and I’m from Kenya. I’m currently looking for a kind and welcoming host family in Europe where I can become part of the family, help with childcare and everyday activities, and experience a new culture while improving my language skills.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, and I have experience working in media and communications. My work has taught me to be responsible, organised, patient, creative and able to communicate well with different kinds of people. I’m also someone who enjoys learning new things and adapting to new environments.

I genuinely enjoy spending time with children and I would be happy to help with age-appropriate activities such as playing, reading, drawing, helping with homework, preparing simple meals, taking children to school or activities, and keeping them company. I understand that every child has a different personality and routine, so I would take the time to understand what works best for your children.

Outside of work, I’m a calm and friendly person who enjoys photography, creating videos, music, cooking, exploring new places and spending time with animals. I’m also an animal lover, so I would be very happy to be around family pets.

I’m currently learning French, which is one of the reasons I’m especially interested in France, Belgium and Luxembourg. I would love to improve my French through everyday conversations and cultural immersion. I’m also open to learning another language if I join a family in a different country.

What I’m looking for is more than simply a place to stay. I would really like to build a genuine relationship with my host family, learn about your culture and traditions, share my Kenyan culture with you, and become a reliable and caring person your children can feel comfortable around.

I’m responsible and respectful of other people’s homes and routines. I’m also willing to learn and take guidance from my host family. I understand that communication is very important, so if there are expectations, routines or house rules, I would be happy to discuss them openly before arriving.
